For an original and culturally enriching New Year celebration, we recommend you reserve a place at the Opera Bastille's New Year extravaganza. The evening will feature music and dancing from a panoply of the greatest artists selected to mark the passage of the Presidency of the European Union from France to the Czech Republic.
The pieces on offer are, in order :
Act III of La Finacée Vendue by Bedrich Smetana
Igor Stravinsky's Firebird
Moonlight by Claude Debussy, followed by Clouds, also by Debussy
Anton Dvorak's Slavic Dance opus 72 No. 8
Boléro by Maurice Ravel
The pieces will be interpreted by the Orchestra of the Paris National Opera and the dancing performed by Les Etoiles, Les Premiers Danseurs and the Corps de Ballet.
