The Expermiental is a super-hyped cocktail bar in the Montorgeuil area, north of Les Halles.  The small space is interestingly furnished (to say the least), and the people behind the bar take the art of cocktail-making to almost religious levels.  Ask for something original and you may find the level of your drink dip slightly before you get it handed to you as every bartender reaches over with a straw to grab a taste.

Prices are in a very acceptable range, at 10 to 12 euros per cocktail.  Much the same price range as the sister venue on the left bank, the Curio Parlor.

Our recommendation : don't order from the menu.  Arrive early, have a conversation with the bartender about what you would like, and say yes to the first thing (s)he offers.
